We develop a quantitative model that treats the generation of these fields in an analogous way to that of electronic shot noise, and use this model to specifically address the cause of this 1/f2 Brownian noise. The model gives way to two analytically tractable solutions, both displaying Brownian noise: 1) uncorrelated cells that display sharp initial activity, whose extracellular fields slowly decay and 2) rapidly firing, temporally correlated cells that generate UP-DOWN states.

Neuronal Shot Noise and Brownian 1/f2 Behavior in the Local Field Potential
We demonstrate that human electrophysiological recordings of the local field potential (LFP) from intracranial electrodes, acquired from a variety of cerebral regions, show a ubiquitous 1/f(2) scaling within the power spectrum. We develop a quantitative model that treats the generation of these fields in an analogous way to that of electronic shot noise, and use this model to specifically addre...
متن کاملThe Schrödinger equation with spatial white noise: the average wave function
We prove a representation for the average wave function of the Schrödinger equation with a white noise potential in d = 1, 2, in terms of the renormalized self-intersection local time of a Brownian motion.

Studying the behaviour of supercavitation from the energy aspect can be divided into two sections. Studying the behavior of supercavitation in the flow field and in vicinity of the flow field. A large portion of field energy is kept in the field, and the rest of it distributed as noise (sound) out of the field. In this paper, harmonious structures of the field which are flowing as energy source...
متن کاملThe Effects of Different SDE Calculus on Dynamics of Nano-Aerosols Motion in Two Phase Flow Systems
Langevin equation for a nano-particle suspended in a laminar fluid flow was analytically studied. The Brownian motion generated from molecular bombardment was taken as a Wiener stochastic process and approximated by a Gaussian white noise. Euler-Maruyama method was used to solve the Langevin equation numerically. The accuracy of Brownian simulation was checked by performing a series of simulati...
متن کاملThe Different Mechanisms of Action Potential Propagation in the Heart
It was thought previously that cardiac muscle gap junctions provide low-resistance connections between cells and permit the local-circuit current to flow. Some evidences show that myocardial cells may not require low-resistance connections for successful propagation of the action potential (AP). It seems that some other types of mechanisms must be involved in AP propagation. In this article, we...
